First things first. The OP of Hidamari Sketch x 365 is by Tatsh. Fucking Tatsh and his goddamn Xepher and his shitty Bleeding Luv. Yeah screw you Tatsh. First the 11eyes OP, then Miku, and now this.

My life is fucking ruined. It’s only a matter of time until we get the successor to Xepher - except this time, it’s a real anime OP. And, after that, Tatsh’s ultimate goal is obviously to make the fanboy dream of a Xepher anime come true. I won’t stand for it!

I also watched Strike Witches. The first episode did nothing to quell my growing feeling that my life was merely a pawn in the hands of the anime overlords. I refuse to believe that this series actually exists. Britannia? Seriously? The fact that no one wears pants almost seems to pale in comparison to the strait-laced way they refer to that most pizza-loving of empires.

I don’t have anything to look forward to this season. Slayers is a nostalgia train that I failed to board. Sekirei is Kanokon Lite. Zero no Tsukaima 3 is fucking Zero no Tsukaima 3. Everything else is some random garbage that probably sucks or is about gay bakers.

I’m going to watch ZnT3 anyway though.

More posts on the delightful subject of Summer 2008 coming soon!!!!!

The music for the final boss battle has an organ solo at the start, by the way. That alone makes the game worth playing! Or something.

Opening July 3rd, eh?

Well, that page seems innocuous enough. Just some English summaries of Da Capo and Suika. My first thought was “Awesome, I’ve always wanted to play the DC game.”

But it appears the rabbit hole runs deeper. If you head over to this url, you can find quite a number of eroge for sale already - all of which are priced at 1 euro except for DC and Suika - which cost the equivalent of 80 USD. How very strange.

Their checkout process claims to SSL, but transactions are done via normal http with no merchant service. Very fishy.

This becomes even fishier when you notice the huge amounts of Engrish everywhere. And fishier still when you learn that this group is based in the Netherlands.

Anyway, if anyone wants to see if buying from this site will result in your identity being stolen by Dutch gangsters, why don’t you try buying Edelweiss or something? Apparently all of their games are download-only, with internet-access DRM. No way am I testing something this shady, though.

I suppose we’ll find more out in two days from now. But seriously, if this is a legit company, they should really adopt less scammish-looking business practices.

And of course the mundane explanation is simply that they’re testing the page with placeholders before it goes live. But that’s boring.

What’s up next? In 44 we get some antics with the teacher and his old childhood friend, and in 45 we get some Yuria x Shishio stuff. Ooh, so this volume is steamy romance?

Hardly. Just wait until the end. That’s when Happy World! shows its true colors, so to speak.

Well, I won’t spoil anything.

Anyway, 44 should be out within the next couple of days, and hopefully 45 this weekend. We found a cleaner, so we’re currently looking for typesetters. Also, JP to EN or CN to EN translators are more than welcome.

Fate also has a harem. Fuck.

Kotarou is pretty gar in this chapter. Wow they actually made him say a Gurren Lagann quote. TRUE END

Well it looks like something might possibly happen in 218! We will just have to wait a couple of days to find out!

This is a pretty weird chapter, but I’m told that it all makes sense later on. It also shows us just how far Takeshi has come since the start of the series.

I was finally forced to edit this chapter due to a lack of staff, which is why it took so long to be released. I don’t know how to edit. At all. This is bad. I’d appreciate it if anyone interested could help us out with editing - we just need one more chapter translated to have all of volume 7 translated, so translation isn’t really an issue at this point. More TLs would always be good, though, of course.

Also, all of Happy World was released in Korea. If you are interested in translating it from Korean, have translated it from Korean, have the Korean raws, or know how to find the Korean raws, please contact me.

EDIT: We now have access to Chinese raws of the series.

Judging by the cast list, it’ll focus on Yuu and Yuuko… I’m not really clear on how far the first anime deviates from the game plotwise, but I know that the Chihiro stuff was anime-original. It looks like there’s room for a closer adaptation this time around? I dunno, I don’t know anything about the second game.

Anyway, I’ll be blogging this show (whenever it airs) like I did with the first one - i.e., actually semi-regular posts about it. Astounding, I know.

Come on SHAFT, give us another winner. Maybe it’ll air this fall? That would be a year after the first one.

Those of you who were looking for backstory will get it here. Well, okay, not the whole story, but at least some of it! In this episode, we get to see the doki doki waku waku happy school life of Kokutou, Shiki, and friends!

Well, something along those lines, at least.

Basically, this episode of Rakkyo establishes the relationship between Shiki and Kokutou, gives us a bit of insight into both’s backstories, and starts dealing with Shiki’s split personality issues.

Personally, I have to say that Shiki and Kokutou’s relationship is the highlight this time around. Even though it should feel totally weird, crazy, and, well, nonsensical, it just works. Their interactions just feel so natural, regardless of whether Kokutou is dealing with SHIKI or Shiki, you know?

Also, the chase scene in the forest was awesome. Lots of great animation there.

The dialogue was well-written, as one would expect. I especially liked the lines about ghosts hiding in the forest.

As far as complaints go, this episode was kinda light on the actual plot, as well as the CRAZY NASU BATTLES, but, as we can see from the preview, episode 3 will remedy that. I never have many complaints about Nasu works in general though.

Anyway, another good entry into the series. These month-long waits are killing me! And we’ll have to wait even longer after 3… it’s not fair, y’know!?
